First time I found myself in Quezon Province was a client meeting. I wasn’t able to actually appreciate the place since it was only from the bus station to the Victoria Hotel and back to the bus station. That was when I first tasted the famous Lucban Longanisa. You see, in my country the Philippines, every province have their own way in making longanisa. And aside from my favorite churizos back home, Lucban longanisa is my 2nd favorite.
I had the privilege to be invited by a friend to go on a trip to Lucban Quezon. All-expense paid, it was his way of saying thank you for inspiring him to be who he wants to be in cosplay and photography. I am still amazed that I can inspire people even though I can’t inspire my own self. But anyway…
Lucban, there are two ways to go there. One is the bus station at Gil Puyat if you’re coming from Manila. Second is at Lucena Bus station in Cubao if you’re coming from Quezon City. Remember kids, Lucban is at Quezon Province while Quezon City is in Metro Manila.
You will be riding the bus going to Lucena, about 2 to 3hrs travel time. I suggest you travel as early as 4am in the morning. Once you arrive at Lucena Central Station, you can then ride a jeepney up to Lucban. Make sure to inform the driver that you will be getting off at Palaisdaan Restaurant, the new one.

They said when you are in a new place, always taste the local delicacies. So we ordered Lucban longanisa and Pancit hubhub and ofcors, rice. We also bought local desserts but I forgot what it was called.
The food was very yummy. I love the longanisa.
Going to the city proper was easy. Since the Palaisadaan restaurant was just along the way, we choose to ride a jeepney towards city proper or a tricycle. We opted for a jeepney. The city proper is you’re usual provincial set up that you can see where ever you go in the Philippines. A church in the center of the city and a park right in front of it. Just a walking distance or across the church, you will find the famous Lucban Longanisa store. This is the store where they said sells the best Lucban longanisa and people were really lining up.
Other than the longanisa, one local food I learned to love is the leching puto. Puto is a famous rice cake (kakainin) here. And Leche is milk in Spanish or otherwise known as leche flan. Leche Puto is half leche flan and half puto. It is also very yummy. These are the food that is a must eat when in Lucban.
