Being a bisaya in Manila, I constantly look for food that is close to home. Coz really (magalit na ang magalit sakin) Manila food is meh. It’s the type of food that you can’t live without soy sauce or vinegar or patis or all of the above. In short, literary doesn’t have a taste. I grew up in a household that soy sauce and vinegars are not necessary to add on your food. So, if your lechon needs mang tomas, then that lechon is not tasty at all.
So here I am walking through SM North the Block and I saw this newly opened restaurant.

It’s Blus Posts Boiling Crabs and Shrimps. They are also serving other seafood dishes and pork. What caught my eyes is that they have Sinuglaw. It’s a famous dish we have back in Mindanao, Sinugbang pork mixed with Kinilaw very tasty one of my favorite dishes back home. Looking at the prices though it’s quite expensive. The waiter by the door, told me their originally from Davao and just recently opened here in Manila. That lifted one of my eyebrows. I told her, really? So is this “lutong bisaya” (cooked in bisaya style) then? I asked. She said yes. I told her. Ok, but if this doesn’t taste like home, then I demand a discount (I said it in a teasing manner ofcors). She just smiled.
Good to her word, the shrimps were juicy fully yummy. And the Sinuglaw, it does taste like home J I am a very satisfied customer. But I still say it is expensive compared to Redtail Shrimps and more.
