Soooo Vendetta huh… I was disappointed with The Final Chapter. It was like they rushed to end the Resident Evil movie franchise. I have loved zombies before it got mainstreamed and Resident Evil is one of my favorite. I will not say the first, because I know there have been zombie movies as early as the 1930s. But I think what really started all the zombie fad is Dawn of the Dead. But anyway, were here to talk about Resident Evil: Vendetta. The animated feature film that was released after The Final Chapter. I am not familiar with the game series, but I believe this is set in a world after the cure finally spread around the world and killed the zombies and humans have gain back the world.

And hey… Leon is here ^_^

War is a vicious cycle. We have here an arms dealer and U.S decided to drop a bomb on his wedding day. Unfortunately, what they did was just kill almost all his guests and his wife and left him alive. Geez, they didn’t even gone back to check or sent some ground troops to check and make sure their target was dead.

So, forward 3yrs from that bombing. They are still hunting Arias, the one they bombed. This time, Intel says that he has a new virus on hand ready for the highest bidder. They swoop in with the STAR team lead by Chris Redfield (YAY he survived the zombie apocalypse) at a mansion in Mexico which they were told that Arias will be there. Unfortunately when they got the mansion their undercover source was already infected with a new type of zombie virus. And as Arias said, the difference with his virus, it knows who the enemy is. He was able to control the zombies. Arias got out and killed all the Redfield’s comrades before rescue arrived.

Meanwhile in a lab at a University, Rebecca Chambers is now a professor researching about this new A-virus that Arias have developed. One of Arias colleague placed an airborne virus to the air vent and caused all of Rebecca’s colleagues turning into zombies. The ones who were not infected got eaten by the infected. Good thing, the moment her lab was under attack a vaccine was ready and she was able to immunize herself with the virus in time to be rescued by Redfield.

Now in hopes of stopping Arias, Redfield and Rebecca seeked the help of Leon Kennedy. Who at first turned them down and eventually changed his mind when they got attacked and Rebecca got kidnapped.

So, they went to save Rebecca and eventually saved the day.

Script wise its meh. Graphics wise, its wow. Fight scene wise.. WTF o.0 specially when one of Redfield’s colleague was attacked by the zombie dogs and got his head cut off.

Leon, your motorcycle scene with the dogs? You’re being a show off. But I don’t mind, you’re my favorite guy in Resident Evil, 2nd was Wisker.

The close range gun fight scene with the zombies? Man, I don’t know if that could be possible in real life. Same as the scene with Arias and Redfield they would have looked silly if it has gone too long.

Over all, I enjoyed the movie. It was like watching a cinematic view of the game before going to the next chapter. Also, when the characters are running around fighting zombies, it feels like you’re playing the game instead of watching an animation movie. I may be biased because I love Resident Evil. Throw me anything about Resident Evil and I will definitely watch it.

I am just disappointed that they didn’t show a movie about what exactly happened right after the ending in Resident Evil: Retribution. Honestly, I just want to know how Leon escaped. Okay fine. I want to watch more Leon.
